Obituary

Rakesh Chawla from Delhi, India, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2023, due to a silent heart attack. He was 54 years old. He was the son of Mr. Sudhir Chand Chawla and Mrs. Surekha Chawla. He was the husband of Mrs. Kiran Chawla and had two children, Tina Chawla and Ojas Chawla. In addition to this, he had a brother, Mr. Sunil Chawla, sister in law, Mrs. Neelu Chawla, sister, Mrs. Anita Sharma, brother-in-law, Surya Kant Sharma, and nieces & nephews, Gunjan Chawla, Karan Chawla, Karunesh Sharma, and Varunesh Sharma, and dear friends.

Rakesh did his graduation and post-graduation from Delhi. He was a very passionate and hard-working person who worked throughout his studies. He took up jobs in diverse domains, including sales, marketing, teaching, consulting, and working on the family business that he started with his brother.

He was a kind and jovial person loved by everyone, especially children. He won the heart of everyone who crossed his path through his intelligence and his loving, caring nature. He read a lot of books and was always curious to learn. He also published a poem in a book.

Rakesh faced many challenges in his life, but he never gave up. His willpower was a motivation, and his fun-loving nature was a highlight in the family. He strongly believed in independence and learning—a legacy he forwarded to his children. His passing was a shock to everyone who knew him in his lifetime.

An adventurous person, he used to go trekking, hiking, and camping. Once, he went for a cycle tour from Delhi to Agra. He had the solution to everything, and even if he didn’t know about anything, he made sure to learn, understand, and help others. He was a giver and an all-arounder. He used to cook delicious meals and was the gem of his family and friends’ lives.

He lived with a heart wide open—spreading kindness, sharing laughter, and leaving behind a world gentler and brighter for having known him.
